I called the cops today. I was sitting in the laundromat and a young couple in a Cadillac pulled into the handicap spot right outside the door. The driver, the guy, gets out and walks over to the bank. After about 10 minutes, he comes back, hands the passenger, the woman, a drink and then proceeds to the tobacco store for about 25 minutes. The whole time the woman is just sitting there.... alone....in the handicap spot....
Guy finally comes back to the car, and guy and girl get their laundry basket and come in to the laundromat. By this time I am done and heading to the car but am fuming because they showed no intention of moving their car. So, I called the police and reported them.
Within a matter of minutes, not 1 but 2 cops show up. I'm not sure if they gave him a ticket or not but he at least moved his car. (I was hiding in a near by parking lot :) )
Say what you will, but those spots are reserved for a reason. Under no circumstances would I EVER park in a handicap spot if I weren't legally entitled to it. I don't even park in the pregnant or mother with small children spots. It just isn't right!
