Seriously, I spend actual money on toys for the cats and they get the most enjoyment out of playing with a roll of bandage tape.
See the little white thing on the floor? That is the tape.
Completely ignoring the "paid for" mouse and going after the bandage tape.

Tell me about it! We once had a cat whose favorite toys were the caps off of Hershey's syrup and the plastic rings of off milk jugs!
